Hope in Spring
____________
My Protea and fynbos-inspired drawing for the competition "Hope in Spring: Draw like David Hockney", hosted by the Centre Pompidou, Paris, June 2020. In the midst of an unsettling and disheartening year, this illustration is a reminder that spring is always on the way. But, the renewed life, energy and hope that it brings can only be birthed after cold and difficult winters. So even in challenging and uncomfortable seasons – keep moving, keep believing, and keep creating.

Just around the corner from the Centre Pompidou, on a forgotten Parisian wall,
a colourful fynbos-illustration blooms into being.
